Welcome to this edition which focuses on the office’s main Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) activities in 2014 and other important developments for the technology in Taiwan.
We start by looking back at the highly successful International Conference on Carbon Capture and Storage that took place during May in Taipei. The two-day event included a high profile public conference and lively forum discussion where leading industry figures, both domestic and international, shared their expertise on the key issues of environmental assessment and safe CO2 storage.
We also report on the Taiwan EPA Minister’s landmark visit to leading CCS institutions in Australia and the inception of the Taiwan Carbon Capture and Storage Utilization Association. Finally, we look at the latest developments with the environmental guidelines and supporting legislation that the office is diligently preparing.
